Over the past year we’ve been hard at work writing and recording a new set of tunes and we’re pleased to share the news that the tenth Whalebone album, Woven, is released digitally today!
The title and the cover artwork hints at the approach we’ve taken with these pieces, layering guitar lines and harmonies like threads running through a tapestry. As well as acoustic guitars (lots of them!), ethereal electric guitars, soaring lap steel guitar, mandolin and even a 100 year old banjo weave in and out of the tunes, sometimes to the forefront, sometimes barely heard but all working together to create pattern and texture within the compositions.
We’re really pleased with the music we’ve created and can’t wait for you to hear it. Woven is now available on all streaming platforms, so please have a listen and let us know what you think! As ever, we hope you enjoy the music.
