From the recording Three Fires
As a band we have always enjoyed the challenge of performing tunes that audiences wouldn’t normally expect from two acoustic guitars and a fiddle. There are three cover versions on the Three Fires album - The Boxer, Sweet Child O’Mine and Stairway to Heaven - all probably fall into this category and are amongst our favourites. This version of Stariway to Heaven orignally written and performed by Led Zeppelin, demonstrates the beautiful melodies that the original songwriters wrote, with the instrumental version proving a testament to how the song stands up as a piece of music without lyrics.
