A new release today from The Bare Bones called "Off the Beaten Track," 👣 and it's our version of a folksy mood booster! We wanted to create something uplifting, textured and catchy, so we hope you think it’s all of these things!
🎙️Recording wise, we aimed for warm acoustic textures, as we wanted the track to feel organic and authentic, like an aural hug. The goal was to preserve the natural, unadorned sound of the nylon string guitars using close-mic techniques that emphasised the intimate, warm tones of the instruments. We also opted to use real organic sounds for the percussive elements, so the soft bass drum is actually Steve tapping the front of his acoustic guitar and the shaker type sound is the palm of his hands rubbing together. Oh, and there’s some subtle sneaky ‘oohhhs and ahhhs’ peppered throughout too 🎤😲
Here’s wishing the cheerful melody and infectious rhythm will be a soundtrack for adventures in wide-open spaces, chasing your Wanderlust vibes or your chill-out sessions. We hope you enjoy listening 🎧
