Sometimes musicians are connected by more than just music. We recently had the immense pleasure of collaborating with Paul Morris, a brilliant acoustic guitarist hailing from Bristol, some 90 odd miles down the Severn from us.
The result of our collaboration is a tune titled Riverborn, Tidebound, a name that beautifully reflects our shared connection to the river that links us. Both Whalebone and Paul call the banks of the Severn home, and we can’t but think that this landscape and the river’s gentle flow have subtly woven themselves into the fabric of this track.
For the past few years we’ve been trying to write music that feels joyous and optimistic, qualities that are sorely needed at the moment, and Paul’s intricate flowing acoustic lines reinforced those aims, creating a warm, inviting, and uplifting piece of music that we're very proud of. We hope our collaboration will bring you a little peace and happiness.
